Express Entry is an online immigration system used by Canada to manage applications for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents. It ranks candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency. The system is designed to streamline immigration and select applicants who can contribute to Canada’s economy.

The Express Entry system includes three major programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) – For skilled workers with foreign work experience.
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) – For skilled trade workers meeting specific qualifications.
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC) – For individuals with Canadian work experience.

Candidates create an Express Entry profile and enter a pool where they are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Periodically, the highest-ranking candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
